I Love Summer!

So our first Camp Liberty field trip was a true field trip. We went to pick berries. We had a great time and came home with tons of berries. I probably got more than I needed, and tried really hard to use them all up, so that I didn't waste any. We made Popsicles and smoothies that night. The next day I made some jam and froze four containers full. We still had lots left over to eat. We are still eating them now!

Yummy berries!

I got to go with a friend to a concert on Thursday. We saw REO Speedwagon and Pat Benitar. Of course you are not supposed to record or take pictures, but I wanted something for my scrapbook. I don't think I can get sued for this tiny clip. Pat Benitar was so fabulous. I even got a guitar pick from REO Speedwagon. What a great night!

We had a great opportunity (thanks to a hard working mother on Nathan's Lacrosse team) to go watch a Professional Lacrosse game and meet some of the players. Saturday, our family drove to Boston for the fun!

I didn't get a great picture because I didn't want to be in their faces, but Nathan and his team go to meet three players and get their sticks signed. One of the players asked about Nathan's silly bands and he told him all about them. We got a great compliment from the security. They said our team was the best behaved team they had ever hosted.

MaryLynnn and JJ had to get in on the fun. Why not? We let them get some autographs too. This player told JJ that he had never signed a pink stick before, but he signed it anyway!

Then Nathan's team got to help form the Human Tunnel to welcome the players onto the field. His team is wearing the black jerseys towards the back of the line. Nathan said he got to give one of the players a high five as he ran past.

Nathan was picked from all the boys on his team to play a game during a time out. He got to play the "Want to be a Cannon" game. He and another boy had to race to put all the gear on (man-size gear) then try to make a goal. The cheerleaders are helping him get the gear on. He was so worried about holding the pants up, that it was awful hard to make a goal.

Here is the two boys all dressed in the gear standing with the mascot. This is a memory that Nathan will never forget!

So right before we leave the game, I realize I don't have a picture of our family. So, I grab the coach to take a photo. Here's what we got. Lesson learned: Don't ask a coach to take a picture!

He may not be a photographer, but he is a great coach!
